Plus X Award
Metz is celebrating its 85th anniversary this year. Now the Plus X Award jury has named the traditional German company a “German Brand Icon”. It is the first time that this special distinction for continuous excellence in product quality and brand management has been awarded.
Highest customer confidence – Made in Germany
Metz is celebrating its 85th anniversary this year. The fact that the German traditional company has continued to be successful in the rapidly develop-ing television market is certainly thanks to numerous factors: a clear belief in the complete development and manufacture of its Metz Classic TVs in Germany, and the aspiration to deliver each and every product sustainably and in the highest quality, are definitely among these factors.
Metz Classic
Product sustainability is once again taking on an increasingly important role. The resources we use should be as durable and environmentally friendly as possible. In addition, the manufacturing process and the logistics associated with it in the course of a product’s life also play an important role. For our premium brand Metz Classic, we have devised a number of concepts that already allow us to deliver sustainability today – something we are continuously improving.
Metz Classic
In order to meet the highest quality standards, Metz has been developing and manufacturing its products in Germany for over 80 years, making it one of the longest established consumer electronics companies in Germany. In 2022, Metz can once again refer to several first-class ratings from customers, trade magazines and independent experts.
Awarded once again
This year, the Plus X Award’s “Specialist Retailers’ Brand of the Year” award once again went to the Metz Classic brand. This yet again proves the tradi-tional TV manufacturer’s consistent loyalty to specialist retailers.
Traditional TV manufacturer continues its internationalisation course
Metz, a traditional German TV manufacturer, is gaining a foothold in the Chinese market with its own brand. METZ black now offers high-quality consumer electronics products in China, which harmonize the spirit of German engineering with the desire for high-quality consumer goods of the Chinese population.
Together through the crisis
Metz Consumer Electronics GmbH provides 45,000 protective masks free of charge. The TV manufacturer is cooperating with its trade partners, who will in turn be coordinating with local institutions and health authorities throughout Germany over the next few days where the masks are needed most urgently, in order to ensure a targeted allocation to clinics, care and other social institutions.
300 journalists from over 50 countries
At the annual IFA Global Press Conference, industry, media and innovators come together to provide an insight into trends in consumer electronics, and to set out the initial themes for IFA, the leading technology trade fair that takes place in September. Metz, a German manufacturer of premium televisions, took this opportunity to present the details of their progressive internationalisation strategy to an international audience for the first time – the primary element of this being the launch of Metz Classic in China.
Special award for dedicated retail brands
2019 is beginning well for the premium manufacturer: this year, the Plus X Award “Special Retailers’ Award of the Year” in the TV category was presented to the Metz Classic brand. The winner is selected by means of a Germany-wide survey of retailers, and rewards brands that notably maintain responsible and collaborative trading relationships.

1 year of Metz Consumer Electronics
Just 1 year after Metz Consumer Electronics GmbH was started up, the company is looking positively into the future. With approx. 160 employees working at the Zirndorf site, where Metz produces and develops its televisions, the brand has reestablished itself in the consumer electronics market. The next important step in company development is the upcoming introduction of the brand-new OLED TV technology, which will make Metz one of the leading brands in this still very young market segment.
